On May 2, the Campbell County Fire Department responded to six incidents—medical emergencies at Shipwheel Lane, College Park Circle, and Tyler Avenue; a gas odor check at Winland Drive; a two-vehicle accident at Skyline Drive and Westover Road; and a grass fire on Timber Creek Road caused by electrical lines that burned 0.3 acres.

Local students competed in the 17th annual Book Battle after months of hard work on memorable books & their faces showed clear highs and lows during the contest.

Organizers said the event tested creativity & built skills for future challenges.

The Gillette City Council is reviewing options for the Gurley bridge replacement and may decide on a course of action in a few months (as part of the Gurley Overpass project).
