COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Boys and Girls Clubs of Campbell County launched its second annual Angel Tree at 410 Lakeside Drive today to let locals pick a tag for a child or family in need; all gifts must be returned by Dec. 15.  County 17
  • The Festival of Trees celebrated its 34th year last weekend at the Cam-plex Wyoming Center — a three-day event where locals raised $456K with festive displays and decorations.  Gillette News Record
  • Gillette residents can submit nominations for the 2025 Holiday Lighting Contest—entries are due by 5 p.m. Dec. 8 via email or an online form to qualify for the Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice Awards with prizes up to $300. Judges will review the entries on Dec. 9 while Facebook voting will begin on Dec. 16 and end on Dec. 19, with winners announced on Dec. 27.  County 17
  • The Campbell County Public Library board met before Thanksgiving and approved routine items while noting that work at the Wright branch is on track with drain work done, backfilling underway — outdoor work is set to finish by mid-January and a future meeting in Wright is being considered. The board also heard public comments on its young adult book policy, with one Gillette resident arguing that sensitive topics help start important talks while board members said the policy keeps the children’s area safe.  County 17

CULTURE NEWS

  • CCPL will host musician Andy Mason on December 16 at 6pm for a festive evening of music and history. Attendees will enjoy holiday favorites—learning about the origins of Christmas tunes.  Campbell County

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Campbell County’s regular unleaded gas is priced at $2.87 this week, 16 cents below the national average ahead of Thanksgiving travel—AAA data shows Wyoming’s state average is $2.83 while Gillette stations report prices as low as $2.85.  County 17

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Campbell County Library Board meets today at 4:30 p.m. in the Wyoming Room at the Campbell County Library to review routine business and the October financial report—an update on the Wright Branch construction project is also on the agenda with details on recent workshops, training, and monthly usage statistics.  County 17
