COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Saturday afternoon, about 100 people attended the second No Kings rally at Dalbey Memorial Park and the event was one of 14 held across Wyoming.  Gillette News Record
  • The University of Wyoming Extension launched the new Wyoming Specialty Crop Directory this month—an online database with nearly 1,100 listings that helps Gillette residents find local foods like fresh produce, herbs, honey, and homemade goods. The free resource organizes listings by county and includes farmers markets, CSA operations, and co-ops.  County 17

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Campbell County’s average gas price fell 12 cents to $2.68 per gallon today, making it the state's third cheapest fuel. GasBuddy data show national prices dropped to $2.98 per gallon, and analysts say prices may stay below $3 for months — a trend that follows increased oil production — as fuel costs remain low.  County 17

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Local students and staff at Fort Washakie School processed 1,000 ears of corn donated by Riverton farmer Lindsey Anderson and served a Farm to School Day lunch featuring local beef and lettuce on Oct 13—this event highlighted the school’s efforts to bring locally grown food into the cafeteria and supported a state program that will hold its first conference on Oct 28–29 in Casper.  County 17

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On October 20, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to review a Wyoming corner crossing case that lets hunters cross private property for public access, leaving a key 10th Circuit ruling in place—this decision means corner crossing remains legal in Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico.  Wyoming Public Media

SPORTS NEWS

  • Wyoming Basketball opened its preseason with a 69-65 win over Northern Colorado on Saturday in Gillette—transfer Leland Walker scored about 20 points for a nearly new 15-man team with only three returning players. The team will prepare for 32 games and will play against the College of Idaho on Oct. 25 at 12:30 p.m.  County 17
