- ➤ Gillette residents have a full weekend ahead starting with ARP Fall Fling today and continuing with the Homemade and More Craft Show on October 11–12 and Dancing with the Gillette Stars at Cam-Plex Wyoming Center on October 11. Other activities include Gillette Elks BINGO at 5:30 p.m., Magic Hunks at Grinners at 7 p.m., and Karaoke Night with Alien Entertainment at 8 p.m. County 17

- ➤ Photographers of all ages can submit up to 10 photos for the annual Wyoming Wildlife magazine contest until midnight Nov. 17, and entries must be taken in Wyoming without prior publication — the winning photos in four categories will appear in the February issue with the best overall entry earning $600 from The Wyldlife Fund. - ➤ Federal officials postponed a Wyoming coal lease sale scheduled for Wednesday — a decision prompted by a low bid from the only bidder in Montana for 167 million tons of coal. Officials said another date will be set for the West Antelope III lease. County 17
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Federal watchdog groups raised concerns after a Montana coal lease sale on October 6th drew a low bid and a Wyoming sale scheduled for October 8th was postponed without a new date—prompting doubts that bids meet fair market value for public returns. Lawmakers, including Sen. Cynthia Lummis, pushed to reverse policy changes that ended new coal leasing in the Powder River Basin, arguing that these moves have hurt local taxpayer funding.
