- ➤ Gillette hosts a busy free weekend with events — Grinners Saloon presents a murder mystery today at 6:30 p.m., Dan Tyminski performs bluegrass at CAM-PLEX at 7:00 p.m., and Legends offers comedy tonight from 8 to 11 p.m. — along with a CCPL craft supply swap starting today and on Sept. 20 and a Gillette Fiction Writers Group meeting on Sept. 20 at the library. - ➤ Nearly 400 runners and walkers gathered on Tuesday at M&K Oil for the 15th annual Memory of the 8 event, honoring a significant legacy with community support. Gillette News Record

- ➤ Wildlife ecologist Chris Kirol said that after the House Draw Fire in August, key lek areas in northeast Wyoming lost nearly all sagebrush—replaced by cheatgrass and Japanese brome—and saw a 40% drop in sage grouse counts. He warned that without enough sagebrush the birds may not breed well even though state counts show more birds overall this year. County 17

- ➤ Campbell County Commissioners introduced a draft resolution to bar nuclear waste storage—asking local residents to share their opinions on nuclear energy—and will review the comments before finalizing the plan. Gillette News Record
- ➤ The Bureau of Land Management said its oil and gas lease sale netted $8,450,944 after leasing 39,225.02 acres in Wyoming under the new One Big Beautiful Bill Act regulations—developers have 10 years to start production on the leased land. County 17
