Lawmakers debated issues such as taxes, zoning, and business rights—proposals for a central monitoring system and online wagering amendments stalled amid opposition. Wyoming Public Media
- ➤ Campbell County commissioners debated on Tuesday whether a resolution to let voters decide on nuclear waste storage was premature as several officials pointed to limited public information and questioned the legality of the proposal—commissioner Scott Clem said he did not have enough details under current state law. They agreed that any future state law permitting nuclear waste storage would require a public vote while residents raised concerns over potential electricity rate hikes and safety risks. County 17
- ➤ Campbell County commissioners are considering joining two national opioid settlement agreements to hold pharmaceutical companies accountable and potentially secure a share of millions—if the county submits a release form by Sept. 30 for the Purdue settlement and another by Oct. 8 for the secondary deal, all funds must be used for approved opioid crisis measures.
