CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Gillette police used a K9 sniff test at the Council of Community Services shelter in a Phase III building—finding drugs that led to the arrest of Tara Green on Aug. 28—and she faces three felony drug charges for crystal meth, liquid meth and THC with a preliminary hearing on Monday, Sept. 8. County 17
- ➤ The jury trial of Bernard Hale, a former Legacy assisted living CNA charged with felony involuntary manslaughter in the death of an 88-year-old resident, has been postponed from Aug. 25 and will begin on Oct. 16—set for a seven-day trial under District Court Judge Michael McGrady. County 17
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 4, the Campbell County Fire Department in Gillette responded to 10 calls including a gas leak, multiple medical emergencies, a citizen assist, and a fire alarm activation. They have handled 2,218 service requests this year. County 17
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Mark Gordon and the Wyoming Department of Health called for progress on lowering Wyoming’s suicide rate in an announcement on Sept. 4 during suicide prevention awareness month—he urged securing funding for the 988 lifeline, implementing the state suicide prevention plan, and supporting programs like Veterans Talking to Veterans.
