CRIME NEWS

  • Two women were arrested for felony possession when police found almost 100 grams of meth + cocaine + weed in a car after a report led to a search at the Baymont by Wyndham hotel Sunday morning.  Gillette News Record

ECONOMY NEWS

  • At the 2025 Campbell County Fair, the Youth Livestock Sale raised nearly $700,000 — a result that highlights strong local participation.  Gillette News Record
  • The national average for a gallon of gasoline has fallen to $3.08 after three weeks of rising prices while Campbell County prices dropped to $2.90 and a Gillette station reported $2.80 on Monday—AAA said Wyoming’s average is now $3.07, down from last week and much lower than a year ago.  County 17

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Campbell County students earned spots on Sheridan College’s Spring 2025 honor roll lists. Five Gillette students achieved 4.0 GPAs to join the President’s Honor Roll, one from Gillette made the Vice President’s list, and three part-time students from Gillette were honored—each meeting different GPA and enrollment requirements.  County 17

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Gurley Avenue overpass in northern Gillette reopened today after being closed for more than a week for epoxy injection repairs—Hladky Construction completed the work at a cost of $68,750 paid from optional sales tax funds. This marks the second closure this year as annual inspections require crews to evaluate the bridge’s integrity.  County 17
  • The Campbell County Board of Commissioners announced Monday that it is seeking applicants to fill vacancies on several county boards with applications due Wednesday, Aug. 13. New board members will start their terms on Aug. 19 — roles include three-, two-, and five-year terms — inquiries can be made by calling the office.  County 17
  • The BLM sold over 3.4 million board feet of timber rights in two northeast Wyoming areas to a Hulett-based company, netting $218,000 with the Stateline sale earning $165,640 and the Goldie Divide sale $52,780—both contracts will yield only ponderosa pine boards to support construction and forest health.  County 17
