Boxelder Road — the sessions will explain a new job training and placement program for single moms seeking careers in schools, behavioral and mental health programs and adult services. Attendees should plan for their own childcare — the meetings are the first step in applying for the soon-to-start program.
WyoGives Day saw Gillette organizations receive about $312,244 from the statewide $5,629,635 fundraiser that spanned 36 hours—9,293 donors gave nearly 19,000 gifts.
The Council of Community Services in Gillette led Campbell County with $53,314, showing strong local support.
On July 16, Campbell County Fire Department responded to five calls including a medical response at Mountain Meadow Lane at 1:27 a.m., a vehicle smoke report on I-90 at 12:44 p.m., and medical calls at Bertha Avenue, Overdale Drive, and Kirstan Avenue.
The department has handled 1,742 service requests year to date — a sign of steady demand — as it continues to support the community.
The Big Beautiful Bill—passed last week—will increase logging on federal lands by 25% over the next few years, adding 250 million board feet from Forest Service lands and 20 million from Bureau of Land Management acres each year; industry representatives and environmental groups worry that long-term contracts and shifting timber revenue to the U.S. Treasury may reduce local funding and flexibility.
