Peabody Energy will use part of the $75 million DOE fund to build a pilot processing facility at its Rawhide mine near Gillette — a project that will extract rare earth elements and critical minerals and create 55 new jobs — adding to earlier state support.

The Campbell County School District Board meets at 6 p.m. July 15 at the Educational Services Center to review the proposed FY27 budget and hold public hearings on projects including building improvements and playground equipment (with further discussion on special education agreements and grant applications).

The City of Gillette closed Hidden Valley Road from Dade Road west to 3910 and 3911 on July 8 for sewer mains replacement and road improvements — the road will reopen on July 24.

Wyoming Health Department is accepting proposals from hospitals, clinics, and telehealth providers to use part of $205M federal funding to improve rural health services; applications close Aug.
