- ➤ Residents and city leaders will gather at the Children’s Memorial Walkway Remembrance Ceremony on June 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Children’s Memorial Garden on Warlow Drive and Brooks Avenue—city officials stated that Warlow Drive will be closed from Osborne Avenue to the Aquatic Center parking lot—so residents can plan their routes accordingly. - ➤ The City of Gillette Animal Shelter lets residents name their own adoption fee until June 16—offering spayed and neutered pets that are vaccinated and microchipped. A $3 city license fee still applies to residents, and adopted dogs must go home on a leash while cats must be transported in a secure carrier. County 17
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Today, Campbell County Public Library hosts its Teen Tech Zoo at the Gillette branch from 2-3 p.m. as part of the summer reading program, where kids in seventh grade test new gadgets and gizmos + gain hands-on experience with technology. Gillette News Record

- ➤ Wyoming’s new Select Committee on Gaming will focus on local control over simulcast permits as lawmakers prepare to draft a bill for the next legislative session. The committee will review current permits and proposals for stronger local oversight (a key issue for communities). Gillette News Record
- ➤ The Campbell County Fire Department responded Tuesday, June 10 to several incidents including medical calls at 5:43 a.m., 10:44 a.m., and 8:59 p.m.—an agency assist at 1:18 p.m., natural gas investigations at 2:19 p.m. and 4:29 p.m., plus a two-vehicle collision at 6:55 p.m. Year to date, the fire department has answered 1,408 requests for service.
