Federal land managers are asking for public input on an environmental assessment for a proposed land exchange in northern Campbell County that would swap 1,268 acres from Quarter Circle 7 Ranch for up to 1,491 acres of BLM parcels.

If approved, the exchange will unlock more than 2,000 acres of public land and create an 8,500-acre contiguous block—improving land management and public access.

On June 9, the Campbell County Fire Department responded to five incidents in Gillette, including emergency medical calls and a fire alarm activation.

Year to date they have answered 1,400 service requests — marking a busy start to summer.
