Severe thunderstorms are forecast to hit Gillette this afternoon and evening, with risks of large hail (over 2 inches) and damaging winds, as NWS meteorologists from Rapid City predict storm formation starting at 1 p.m.
The National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) forecast above normal wildfire potential across Wyoming this summer due to a hot, dry spring.
The report warns that parts of Northeast Wyoming will face large wildfires in June and July that could shift southwest in August.
