A fire still burns at the wastewater treatment plant after starting several days ago; workers built a containment line (to stop it from spreading) while residents may see smoke drifting across neighborhoods (depending on wind conditions) under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.

Local, state, and federal officials are preparing for a severe wildfire risk in Wyoming as experts note fires now occur year round.

They plan to boost readiness and share resources among communities (emergency updates will follow).

Bay Avenue at the intersection of West Echeta Road will be closed from June 4 through June 9 for construction work, according to the City of Gillette Engineering Division; drivers will see 'Road Closed' barricades and 'Road Work Ahead' signs along the route.

Lawyer Steven Titus of Steven Titus & Associates donated $25,000 to Gillette Reproductive Health after county commissioners declined funding for wellness exams.

He said the donation supports essential services for women and his check and letter were delivered today.
