- ➤ Gillette College estimates its 2026 budget will increase by about 1% over last year's $26.5 million even with a $1.275 million cost for ongoing development. Gillette News Record
- ➤ Sherrill Smith, dean of UW’s Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing, was named the 2024 AACN Advocate of the Year Award winner for her work promoting nursing education nationally—she began as dean in 2019 and helped improve learning and faculty support during COVID-19. - ➤ Gillette City Council voted this week to advance an amendment banning open carry in city buildings—this measure will also remove most conceal carry restrictions to comply with a new state law. Gillette News Record
