- ➤ The Campbell County Rockpile Museum hosts a Memorial Day walk at Mount Pisgah Cemetery on Monday, May 25 (2:30 p.m. start, 4 p.m. flag pickup) to honor 12 veterans. County 17
- ➤ A road near Dalbey Memorial Park closed May 14 is detouring traffic from Edwards Street to the fishing area and shelter near Rotary Point. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes. County 17
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Campbell County School District #1 board approved a 2026–27 package that boosts teacher pay by $6,500 from about $71,900 to over $78,000, gives certified staff an 11.2% raise, sets a $177M preliminary budget, and revises public comment rules effective July 1. County 17
- ➤ County 17 is honoring the Class of 2026 from Campbell County, Thunder Basin, Westwood & Wright High Schools with a special feature on its website and socials. Donors paying $20 will have their grad added to the gallery & receive a shoutout on Facebook & Instagram, with all funds supporting local news. County 17
- ➤ A new national report shows Wyoming students ranked 36th in math and 20th in reading recovery since COVID — losing about 0.4 grade levels from 2019 — while new school funding and literacy bills passed to help boost scores. County 17
- ➤ The Campbell County school board met on Wednesday and honored students and staff for winning in the Book Battle, Science Bowl, and girls indoor track. Hillcrest and Conestoga schools reported academic improvements (via Title I funding), with increased English proficiency and performance ratings. County 17
