- ➤ Stacker used data from the National UFO Reporting Center to rank UFO sightings in Wyoming — Gillette had 15 sightings and ranked fifth while Cheyenne led with 50 — and the report covers incidents reported since 1995. Wyoming News Now
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming wheat farmers were more worried that rising fertilizer and input costs would hurt their profits more than tariffs, the state wheat commission said. Keith Kennedy (executive director of the commission) said most of the state's wheat was sold to Mexico and that more planting in other states could drive prices down. Wyoming Public Media
- ➤ Campbell County’s gas price fell for the fourth week to $3.11 per gallon while the national average dropped 4.2 cents to $3.08, according to GasBuddy data. AAA reported Wyoming’s average is $3.13 amid seasonal refinery maintenance + oil market shifts ahead of Memorial Day. County 17

- ➤ On May 11, the Campbell County Fire Department in Gillette responded to eight calls including seven medical responses and a residential structure fire at the 2200 block of Wagonhammer Lane. The kitchen fire spread into the living room and displaced one adult but was quickly contained by 12 firefighters and one chief—bringing the year-to-date total to 1,178 responses. County 17
- ➤ On Jan. 14, the Campbell County School District 1 Board met at 6 p.m. at the Educational Services Center in Gillette and discussed changes to its policies including firearms for non-students — the board also reviewed staffing items, contracts, bids, and a preliminary $311.4M budget while setting a 45-day public comment period before a final vote on July 16. - ➤ The Equality State Policy Center filed a lawsuit on Friday challenging Wyoming House Bill 156 (a law that requires proof-of-citizenship and residency to register to vote). The lawsuit claims the law may limit voter access. Gillette News Record
