  • In a few weeks, Gillette Animal Control and Health Services will launch a new program to reduce the rising feral cat population—officials say the updated approach aims to improve animal and public health in our community.  Gillette News Record

  • Jerry Altermatt retired last week from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department after 33 years of service. He was known for his work with river areas and beaver care+ his innovations in moving and housing beavers earned him several awards.  County 17
  • An elections organization sued the secretary of state and county clerks on May 9 to challenge HB-156, a law that requires voters to show proof of citizenship and residency after living in the state for 30 days; the suit claims the measure burdens eligible voters, especially women, Hispanic, young and low-income residents. Secretary of State Chuck Gray said he will defend the law, which is set to go into effect on July 1 unless a judge blocks it.  Wyoming Public Media
