- ➤ Between May 2 and May 4, Gillette police reported that teenagers were cited for placing cheese slices on a vehicle at Westwood High School, a man was arrested for domestic battery and false imprisonment after restraining his wife in a home, a 45-year-old man was hospitalized for intoxication on Madison Street while a 45-year-old woman was arrested for impaired driving near Garner Lake Road after officers found open bottles—additionally, officers responded to a Snapchat incident involving child bullying, a suspicious altercation that damaged a parked car on East 2nd Street, and a 15-year-old girl was arrested for interference after fleeing a crisis shelter. - ➤ An Anti-Defamation League report found a record 9,354 antisemitic incidents in 2024, including 31 in Wyoming, with local authorities noting a sharp rise in vandalism tied to tensions abroad—Rabbi Zalman Mendelsohn of the Chabad Jewish Center said community support has helped counter isolated acts of hate. - ➤ Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray spoke on Thursday evening at the Campbell County Public Library in Gillette about new election integrity laws that will require voters to show citizenship documents including a driver’s license under the SAVE Act and House Bill 156. During a heated town hall lasting two hours, residents questioned the fairness of the rules and warned they might limit access while Gray defended the measures—citing past voter fraud cases and hinting at possible lawsuits over state residency requirements.
