COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Loss Mommas of Gillette, a local nonprofit supporting grieving mothers, will host a Bereaved Mother’s Day brunch Saturday, May 4 at Prairie Sky Venue from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The event will offer food, remembrance activities and take-home gifts at a cost of $50 per person. County 17
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gasoline prices in Campbell County dropped for a second week as the average fell 4 cents to $3.18 per gallon, while the national average held at $3.10 per gallon. The cheapest fuel was reported in Gillette at $3.15 per gallon based on data from over 12 million price reports. County 17
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wildlife managers at the Wyoming Game and Fish Department completed the season-setting process and approved significant changes for some hunt areas that affect archery season and regular dates for the 2025 hunting season. Hunters are advised to review their license information as final details will be available on the online hunt planner by early May — residents have until June 2 and nonresidents until May 8 to modify or withdraw their licenses. - ➤ Campbell County Fire Department answered calls on April 26 and April 27. On April 26, they handled five incidents including a medical call, a vehicle collision & a smoke odor check, and on April 27 they responded to ten incidents such as a vehicle collision, several medical calls, a carbon monoxide check & a rubbish fire; the department has taken 1,073 calls for service so far this year. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Provisional data from the Wyoming Department of Health showed that in 2024, Wyoming saw an increase in births to 6,079, deaths to 5,725, and marriages to 4,493 while divorces decreased to 1,901. The preliminary totals are subject to minor adjustments as more data is finalized — reflecting natural variations in our small population. County 17
