  • Gillette residents can enjoy more than 7 tons of crawfish & southern cuisine at the 43rd annual Crawfish Boil this Friday, Apr. 24, held locally to support a good cause.  Gillette News Record

  • Last week, Cowboy Clean Fuels announced that its carbon credits have been verified and are ready for purchase. The clean energy company with a Gillette office is advancing its carbon-neutral renewable natural gas project.  Gillette News Record

  • Powder River Symphony will perform its spring concert (An All American Symphonic Celebration) at 3 p.m. Sunday at Thunder Basin High School auditorium, offering local residents a chance to enjoy engaging music.  Gillette News Record
  • Troopers Legacy Corps in Casper is accepting new performers ages 18 to 74 — registration is open online for its 2026 season that includes virtual learning, an intensive rehearsal week starting June 21, a memorial on June 24, and a Colorado trip on June 26 for a final performance.  County 17
  • Campbell County Rockpile Museum is seeking a mining simulator this year + the new energy exhibit aims to offer visitors an interactive look at local mining history.  Gillette News Record

  • Campbell County School Board is considering new rules on cellphone use in schools to promote focused learning. The board will review proposals in its next meeting.  Gillette News Record
  • Gillette College President Janell Oberlander said the college is poised to be a candidate for accreditation by June after meeting with higher education officials.  Gillette News Record

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Today, Gillette remains in a stretch of hot, dry, and windy weather that is raising fire risk as temperatures near 80 and gusts reach 40 mph; cooler air with rain showers is forecast by Thursday for relief.  County 17
  • Severe drought is affecting much of Wyoming this spring and raises wildfire concerns for the upcoming summer. The National Weather Service warns that if dry conditions persist, increased rain later this week may help green the landscape — lessening fire risks.  Wyoming News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The county will repair the bike path along Southern Drive (between Enzi Drive and Swanson Road) this spring as construction crews begin work over the next couple of months.  Gillette News Record
