- ➤ Gillette College Board approved a policy reading that lets student-athletes secure endorsement deals via a platform called Opendorse (offering tax and financial aid sessions) while keeping the college compliant with NJCAA, NIA and NCAA rules. The three-year policy requires athletes to be enrolled before benefiting. County 17
- ➤ At a meeting, Gillette College board praised its women’s basketball team for a historic season and approved four new academic programs along with policies on facility maintenance, surveillance & hazing. President Janell Oberlander also updated on accreditation, property replatting, enrollment and planned tech rollouts. County 17
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Commissioners approved cleanup days in Wright on May 8 — 9 and a $25,000 grant for the Rockpile Museum while previewing upcoming events including Annual Budget Week from Apr. 27 — May 1, a Special Olympics opening ceremony on Apr. 30, and a veterans barbecue on May 2. County 17
