- ➤ A man who was out on bond for felony crimes he allegedly committed on New Year's Eve went on a late night rampage through Foothills Subdivision. Gillette News Record

- ➤ CCHS students celebrated wins at the World Languages Day competition today in Renee Fritzen's Spanish class—each student left proud of their language skills. Gillette News Record
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Gillette City Council approved a $218K contract for Mandros Painting to repaint the interior of the Digester Building at the Wastewater Treatment Plant on Tuesday night. The work will be completed by June 30 to address aging coatings found during inspections. County 17
- ➤ On March 31, the Campbell County Fire Department responded to 12 incidents including medical emergencies, fire alarms, and odor investigations at locations such as West 4-J Road and North Brooks Avenue. The department completed 849 service calls this year — a busy schedule for local responders. County 17
- ➤ Campbell County commissioners approved an overhaul for the 17-year-old 980 loader with Wyoming Machinery Co. for $348,674.76 and finalized a purchase agreement for a 5-acre property at 486 N. Garner Lake Road for $330,000 to spur economic development. They also approved funding for a new senior engineer position in Public Works with $33,487.62 for payroll and $2,875 for capital—supporting landfill management and other engineering projects. - ➤ On Tuesday, April 1, Campbell County Commissioners issued proclamations recognizing the Week of the Young Child from April 5 to 11 and declaring April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and they also formed a committee to plan events for the nation’s 250th anniversary; Nathan Grotrian, executive director of Children’s Developmental Services, read parts of the proclamation with nine preschoolers — while Tatyana Walker from the Gillette Abuse Refuge Foundation outlined planned activities such as Teal Tuesdays to raise awareness. - ➤ At its April 1 meeting, Gillette City Council approved raising the Gurley Overpass replacement to a top priority—now renamed the Mike Enzi Memorial Overpass—in a plan that lists 38 projects through 2030. City staff will now start developing a plan and will share details with the public. County 17
