- ➤ Crews will remove dead trees from Weston Hills Recreation Area after the Constitution Fire — visitors planning trips this spring should note active logging operations 32 miles north of Gillette. Gillette News Record
- ➤ Critical fire weather continues in Campbell County through Saturday as temperatures rise from the 70s on Friday to near 90 under dry air, gusty winds, and a Red Flag Warning in effect from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. A cold front will bring rain Saturday night with cooler temperatures Sunday. County 17
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office hosts the Flag Sojourn 250 ceremony Tuesday, March 24 at 5:15 p.m. at 600 W. Boxelder Road (part of the national 250th anniversary initiative) featuring a flag that traveled 40,000 miles and honored overseas military cemeteries. County 17
- ➤ The Wyoming Department of Transportation will resume roadwork on WYO 59 South in Gillette beginning the week of March 23. Crews will seal roadway joints between East Boxelder Road and East Lakeway Road while drivers should expect intermittent lane closures. County 17
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The University of Wyoming’s Brody Knowlton was named Mountain West Conference Freshman Golfer of the week after posting scores of 71, 75, and 72 at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate this week. It is his third honor this season and his team will compete in the Cowboy Classic March 31-April 1. County 17
