🎓 Education
The Campbell County School District Board meets today at 6 p.m. at the Educational Services Center where Board Chair Lisa Durgin will lead a session celebrating Thunder Basin's 4A Boys State Wrestling Champions and reviewing academic, project, and staffing updates.
Public comment will be welcomed.
Gov. Mark Gordon signed Senate File 59 Friday at the Capitol to create a new K-12 language and literacy program that will give teachers and students evidence-based reading instruction – a win for literacy advocates who pushed for the measure.
🌲 Environment
On Monday afternoon, Campbell County Fire Department and Natrona County Fire District responded to the Porcupine Creek Fire burning over 1,000 acres west of Wright while Highway 387 between Highways 50 and 59 was closed to allow safe emergency operations.
🏛️ Government
Mark Christensen has been appointed to the Wyoming Business Council board to support state business policies; he said (Wyoming got it right long ago) and will begin serving immediately.
🏈 Sports
Thunder Basin girls basketball team finished third in 4A East with a win over Sheridan and will return to the state tournament (their first appearance since 2023).
