EDUCATION NEWS

  • Gillette Community College board met yesterday, introducing Glenn Pauley as vice president and appointing Laura Egbert, while granting tenure to five faculty. President Oberlander detailed accreditation progress with a committee meeting scheduled for April 14 — as the board also reviewed campus planning and a facilities fund proposal.  County 17

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Meteorologists say Wyoming will see heavier snowfall from late February through mid April as a wavy jet stream + warmer air add more moisture, especially in eastern regions.  Wyoming News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Monday, the Senate Minerals, Business and Economic Development Committee advanced Senate File 125 to reform the Wyoming Business Council, calling for a full review of its work by April 15 and a task force to study changes — local leaders stressed the agency’s role in supporting community projects.  County 17
  • Governor Gordon approved three energy projects today through the Wyoming Energy Authority, awarding $6,250,000 to Peabody Energy’s Wyoming Rare Earths project, $989,282 to the University of Wyoming for its petroleum system study, and $4,950,000 to a pilot project by Carbon GeoCapture and Black Hills Energy in the Powder River Basin.  Wyoming News Now
