COMMUNITY NEWS

  • GARF celebrated 30 years of the Jerry Boles Chuckles for Charity event with fun, games and magic to benefit the Gillette Abuse Refuge Foundation (supporting local families). The celebration raised community awareness and showcased local support.  Gillette News Record
  • On Saturday, Troop 6064 of Eagle Scouts rebuilt a secure fence for Mary Robinson after a dog attack killed her dog. Animal control officer Adam Ostrom led the project to help prevent future incidents.  County 17

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Regular gas prices in Campbell County increased by 2 cents to $2.70 this week (with the national average rising 1.2 cents to $2.84), according to GasBuddy data.  County 17

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Campbell County School District Board is meeting today at 6:00 p.m. at the Educational Services Center to review academic reports, facilities updates, and personnel matters, including a request to expel four students and discussions on new buses, camera systems, and special education agreements (details are in the consent agenda).  County 17

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Sunday, Feb. 8, the Campbell County Fire Department handled four incidents: two medical calls, an odor investigation, and a grass fire on Bishop Road started by a passing train that burned 6.2 acres. Year to date, they responded to 352 calls.  County 17

HEALTH NEWS

  • Clarence Barry, commander of American Legion Post 42, warns that two recent veteran suicides in Campbell County underscore the need for community support. He urges residents to reach out to struggling veterans using crisis resources and local support programs.  County 17

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Freddie Mac's analysis shows that Wyoming manufactured home sale prices averaged $107,300 in 2024, 13 percent below the national average. The report noted 0.7 percent gains in one year, 16.9 percent increases over five years, and 42.3 percent over ten years while highlighting affordable home options.  Wyoming News Now
