🎭 Culture
The Clinker Stone House north of Gillette in Campbell County was added to the National Register of Historic Places Dec.
29 and is recognized for its rare use of clinker stone in its 1940 design, which reflects local resourcefulness during the Great Depression.
🎓 Education
On Jan. 21, the Gillette College Board of Trustees held its meeting to mark a leadership change as outgoing chair Josh McGrath passed the gavel to Chairwoman Tracy Wasserburger – the board also approved Sampson Construction for pre-construction services on the Enzi Learning Center project.
🌲 Environment
After 2024’s record wildfire season burned tens of thousands of acres and led to mass evacuations, firefighters, lawmakers, and researchers are calling for better fire management + new funding to prepare for an increasingly risky future while studies show wildfire intervals have shortened dramatically.
