- ➤ Middle school students from public, private, charter, and homeschool settings are invited to compete in the 2026 National Civics Bee and must submit online essays proposing community solutions by February 3 at 11:59 p.m. (HST). - ➤ Sheridan resident Gabriel Green announced his bid for governor as a ‘DINO’ who will run a grassroots campaign focused on economic improvement, election reform and reducing government involvement. - ➤ Gillette construction on Metz Drive near the intersections of Poco Drive and South Burma Avenue will temporarily close lanes as Road Work Ahead signs and striped barricades guide traffic; the city's Development Services Engineering Division has notified emergency and transport agencies.
